Led by Patrick Hogan, a nonprofit lawyer with many years of experience leading charitable solicitation registration efforts, and with the support of our experienced Managing Paralegal, Michelle Leung, our MLC Compliance team can handle your charitable organization’s registration and renewals in as many states as you request, for a fixed annual fee.
We will take every part of the otherwise exhausting registration and renewal process that we can off of your plate. And for those steps that require client involvement or input, we will walk you through exactly through what we need, making the multistate registration process as painless as possible.

Standard Registration + Renewal Services
For a standard fixed annual fee, set primarily based on the number of states where your organization requires registration, our MLC Compliance team will do all of the following:
• Draft, file, and provide advice on all necessary forms to obtain and maintain the Client’s charitable registration in the requested jurisdiction, up to all states in which registration is required, plus the District of Columbia, including filing annual renewals or extensions as they come due).
• Gather information and documents needed to complete registration forms, minimizing client involvement to the fullest extent possible.
• File electronically on behalf of clients to the fullest extent possible; when not possible (e.g. in states requiring paper filing), provide registration forms and send to the client lient with detailed instructions for review and signatures, and a return envelope so MLC Compliance can handle filing.
• Review correspondence from states and respond to requests for additional information where necessary.
• Track status of registration in each state, including renewal and financial reporting due dates.
