To provide the non-profit sector with a new approach to legal services that is innovative, cost-effective, and responsive. Through flexible billing arrangements, a mixture of legal and non-legal services, and personnel with a broad array of experience, we will continue providing expert advice of the highest quality to non-profit organizations of all sizes and levels of complexity, without leaving behind those for whom every last dollar is critical.
The ultimate goal: to do our part to create greater equity and effectiveness in the non-profit sector.
Commitment to Equity
The non-profit sector is dependent upon philanthropy which in turn is inextricably tied to wealth and the values of those who have it. For that reason, it is not surprising that our sector has failed to empower or achieve sufficient results for Black, Latinx, and indigenous communities. It is imperative, however, for the beneficiaries of the sector’s status quo to address those failures.
If you or your organization is engaged in the fight for racial equity, we want to provide support however we can.
PRIORITY CAUSES
The non-profit sector is incredibly broad — there are many ways to advance charitable purposes and secure tax-exempt status. We happily serve all types of exempt organizations, regardless of their particular focus area.
Still, we do have certain core values as an organization. Like many of you, we are in the non-profit sector because we want to devote our lives to activities that relieve suffering and promote justice. When working with operating organizations directly focused on our priority areas, we may be able to offer discounted rates or other forms of support to ensure they have access to legal resources. The below-listed areas are not the only areas we are passionate about, but we do encourage organizations in these areas with a need for legal services to reach out for more information.
