MILL LAW CENTER
A LAW FIRM DEVOTED TO THE NON-PROFIT SECTOR
Founded in 2021, Mill Law Center (MLC) provides legal support to the non-profit and social enterprise sectors, including:
Individuals or companies seeking to launch a new non-profit, apply for tax-exemption, and establish a structure for long-term sustainability and impact.
Established public charities, private foundations, and other exempt organizations seeking outside general counsel, with specific expertise in corporate law, tax law, charitable trust and solicitation law, social enterprise, impact investment, and charitable gift planning.
Lawyers and other experts with different areas of focus that want to support non-profits (whether paid or pro bono) and wish to consult with non-profit law experts.
Entrepreneurs and companies that want to explore a collaboration between the for-profit and non-profit sectors to achieve their mission (e.g., establishing a joint venture or non-profit affiliate, donating an interest in a business to a charitable organization).
MLC is a boutique law firm focused on serving nonprofits. While a fully remote operation, MLC’s attorneys are available to meet in San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Cincinnati, with more locations to follow as we continue to serve non-profits around the country. All MLC attorneys are licensed in the state where they live and work. MLC has attorneys licensed in each of California, New York, Ohio, and Kentucky. MLC often works with local counsel as needed in jurisdictions where its attorneys are not licensed.
